Assam’s Para Athletes Soar to Victory at Khelo India Para Games 2023

The Khelo India Para Games 2023, hosted in New Delhi, witnessed a remarkable performance from the athletes representing Assam on Day-2 of the prestigious event. Assam secured three medals in Para Athletics and Para-Badminton, showcasing exceptional talent and determination.

In the Para Athletics events, Ababil Ali emerged as a star for Assam by clinching the Bronze medal in the 100mtrs at the T-42 category. His spirited performance and determination on the track were commendable, earning him a well-deserved spot on the podium.

Anishmita Konwar made the state proud by claiming the Gold medal in the Long Jump T-38 category in Para Athletics. Her remarkable achievement in the field events demonstrated her prowess and dedication to the sport.

The Para-Badminton category also contributed to Assam’s medal tally as Chiranjita Bharali secured the Silver medal. Her exceptional skills and sportsmanship were on full display, earning her a well-earned place on the podium.

The medal winners were honoured and congratulated by the General Secretary of the Paralympic Association of Assam, Mr. Rajib Dey. He expressed his pride in the athletes’ outstanding performances and emphasized the importance of such events in promoting para sports and inclusivity.
